Sonko gets a shoulder to lean on

A day after the Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko held a meeting with a section of the executives from the National Government, Kenya Urban Roads Authority has confirmed that it is taking over the management of key roads within the city.

In a statement on one of its social media pages, the parastatal confirmed that its team will be taking over repairs of link roads so as to ease movement and boost the economy of Kenya capital’s economy.

“As part of the Nairobi Regeneration Initiative @KURAroads has taken up the repair of Nairobi CBD roads. The road works will transform most of the CBD roads in the coming few weeks,” read the statement.

This will be a huge shot in the arm for the county that has been struggling to balance between its thin budget and the huge demand from the fast growing population that has had pressure on the available infrastructure.
