Migné: Harambee Stars far from international standard

Newly appointed Harambee Stars coach Sébastien Migné did not sugarcoat his remarks after holding his first training session with Harambee Stars on Tuesday 15th. Isa problem!

Migné admitted that the team is far from international standards and would need a lot of work to push it back to a fully competitive team globally, though he insists that he is confident of achieving this.

“There is a lot of work to do but I knew that before signing for Kenya but I am happy because I don’t like wasting time that is why I have players training with the exception of Gor Mahia. Tonight I will have feedback from the onset on the players but the target is our potential in a year’s time,” he stated.

“I am hopeful we will improve because we are far from the international standards but I remain optimistic and I also know I may have left out some players since it was impossible to see all talented players in 15 days. The training was good and spirit while putting my philosophy which will also take some time,” he added.

The Frenchman who was last attached to the Congo Brazzaville national team, boasts vast experience across Africa, as well as in Europe. He will oversee three international friendly matches before Kenya faces Ghana in an Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier in September.
